Documenting Our Travels
Travel is a vital part of our life. We want to share it with you.
We love to travel. We love to take pictures. Put this together with a knack for technology
and a flair with language, and you have a recipe for a great travel website. Now if only
I had more time...
Pictures Tumbling
We take a lot of pictures when we travel, and I wanted a less formal means to share them
with a large audience. I use our main site, RJNuckolls.com
for describing our travels and interests rather than showcasing photographs.
CoolIris 3D
This domain uses the CoolIris plugin from www.CoolIris.com.
This allows for an amazing fullscreen, 3D presentation of the thumbnails and photographs. It is used by some
of the biggest images sites on the web, such as Flickr, MySpace and Google Images. I recommend it to anyone
with a high-speed Internet connection.
Biltmore Christmas
The decorators are out in full force to make Biltmore festive. We toured the house after dark, by candlelight and ancient bulbs dimly burning.

Halloween at Hersheys
We visited Hershey's Park late in October. We got to see the park and ride a few rides before 10PM, and come back the next day.

Apple Harvest
Early October is the time to gather apples, and the festival air was full of the sounds of happy people atop Carter Mountain.

Mount Vernon
Plenty of people were out at Mount Vernon this day because the weather was fair. We had lunch at Popeyes and went to the estate afterwards.
We visited the mill and distillery after seeing the house and grounds. I was disappointed to learn they do not produce whiskey anymore.
See Pictures
Washington
We have visited Washington twice together. We saw Arlington Cemetery over Christmas, and then visited Smithsonian
museums in the spring.
The Smithsonian museums are on The Mall, a strip of park which runs from the Capitol to the Washington Monument.
See Pictures
Jamestown
I tried to get some good shots of the ships at dock. The Godspeed fired its cannons as it came in.
The people who work at Jamestown, and cook and clean and recreate the fort really bring the site to life.

Williamsburg
We stayed at the hotel next to the entrance to Colonial Williamsburg. We would walk from the hotel about a quarter of a mile to the center of the town.
The Governor of the Virgina colony lived in Williamsburg, in grand style and at great expense, as was expected.

Fireworks
Each year there is a great fireworks display in McIntire Park.

Skiing
We enjoy a ski trip to Colorado each year and get to visit with relatives. We normally have a long drive from
Tulsa to Denver. It can be a long trip for a single day.
This year we rented a condo in the mountains so we could spend less time each day driving to the ski resort.
We take a sack lunch for seven and eat at the ski lodge.

Scenes of London
We stayed in two hotels in South Kensington and walked around exploring the area. We eventually found a flat
we liked in Camden.

National History Museum
The Natural History Museum is best know for its collection of dinosaur bones, many found in Great Britain.
See Pictures
Greenwich
Greenwich is a famous suburb of London, and a laisurely ferry ride down the Thames.
See Pictures
Kew Gardens
We took lots of pictures at Kew Gardens. We went to see the Dale Chihuly glass exibits. The glass was beautiful.
We really were impressed by the innovative interweaving of natural and artificial.
See Pictures
Canterbury Cathedral
We visited Canterbury during a coach tour of Kent, which included Leeds Castle and Dover. We ate lunch at an American style cafe.
I really love the way the stone steps have been work away by a thousand years of the pilgrams tread.
See Pictures
Leeds Castle
We visited Leeds Castle on an overcast day in September. It was a wonderful trip, and this is our favorite castle.
I really love the way the stone steps have been work away by a thousand years of the pilgrams tread.
